Hello and welcome
Hello and welcome to my first blog,
I’ve been thinking about writing this for a while but I’ve only very recently felt comfortable in wearing the badge of ‘artist’. I’ve been practising for years but even when I gave up my full-time job in order to fully commit to my art, I didn’t feel like a ‘proper’ artist. Now I’m confident there isn’t such a thing and I'm going to write it anyway. Even if it only helps one person.
So I’ve decided to start a blog to give you all an insight into how I am produce my art. I often share my finished pieces on my social media pages. However, this blog is an opportunity for you to see a snippet of my creative process. I will share a few photos of my pieces at different working stages. Over the last few months I have been part of a number of exhibitions and taken every opportunity to showcase my artwork to as many people as possible.
One of the most interesting and beneficial experiences has been running a market stall. I've had the pleasure of interacting with the public and finding out what people truly like. I decided to begin these stalls following my time at Chester Arts Fair, in November 2017. This was my first art fair and I was struck by the number of questions I received about my pieces. The experience spurred me on. I've come to love my varied working life and since it has been full of surprises (often going off plan and quite considerably) I've decided to start sharing my artistic journey...
Thank you for reaching my first blog.
